what is that?

Is that a kit/conversion, or totally homebrew?

Yowza. That’s even longer than an LJ.

I’ve never heard of a kit, so I have to assume it’s home-brew.

That’s awesome

Me neither, but I don’t know everything there is to know.
Assuming homebrew, I now wonder if it’s one tub stretched or two tubs stuck together.

Sure looks like a long winter project.. Sides are flat so it’s not a difficult one. Crazy, I guess they had the vehicles and time.

I KNOW EVERYTHING.
(Except for the 99.99 % of everything I happen to not know.)

Could be this?

That's a TJ Wrangler with a four-door conversion

Oh snap, what a find! I’m guessing that’s a Massachusetts tag on the yellow one, so it’s had quite the journey if that’s what it is. Certainly looks like that could be it. Rear door hinges are the same.

Came here to say that.

There were a couple companies offering conversions

To be fair, these kits were offered long before the JK Unlimited was a thing. It makes sense that they exist, as the JKU was clearly in response to a demand. Just like you could get pickup conversions long before the new Gladiator.

Not just Mass but Martha's Vineyard

A while ago a guy had one of these before the newer than TJ 4 doors. He had a couple kids and that was the reason. I had never seen it myself.

Stretching the frame and body is one thing ... but it makes me wonder how they stretched the top, too. Can’t do that with a welder!

These were conversions you could order, so the company that did it probably contracted out to a convertible top manufacturer to design and make it.

Yeah I kinda hit the publish button on my comment before scrolling down to see the TCV brochure s. Tried to check out their website, but I guess it’s long gone. Good luck finding a replacement soft top when the time comes!

We actually had to fix our soft top once upon a time and we got a local sailmaker to cut and stitch in a new panel.
